This virtual course covers the characteristics of video and Unified Communications. It teaches students to identify the requirements for a successful implementation of Pexip Infinity.
This course describes the characteristics of integrating Pexip Infinity with other communication solutions and enables students to evaluate the general requirements and impact of communication factors, such as coding options, media formats, protocols and network.
Students will use live labs to configure Pexip Infinity and see results using live software, endpoints, laptops and mobile apps.
In addition, students will:
Upon completing this course, the participant will be able to meet these overall objectives:
The Certified Technology Expert training deals with the deployment and configuration of the Pexip Infinity platform, along with integration with other networked systems. It is a very technical course and we expect users to have a high level of IT experience and to be familiar with:
We also use VMware vCentre and the ESXi hypervisor during the course, as well as Microsoft Windows Server providing Active Directory (for LDAP integration), AD Certificate Services and Skype for Business, as well as the Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud service platforms. Remote administration of systems is via RDP and SSH terminals. Familiarity of these systems and administrative techniques would be highly desirable.
Upon completion of this course, attendees will earn the Certified Technology Expert badge, which will be issued by Pexip via Acclaim. This accreditation is then valid for 2 years.
Acclaim is an enterprise-class Open Badge platform provided by Pearson Vue. Acclaim's badges are defined and awarded by credible brands and institutions, providing digital credentials to individuals. and allows for verification by employers.
The virtual sessions will all take place on the same VMR on our Pexipdemo platform, accessible via web, SIP, H.323 or Skype for Business. Due to the nature of the material and the structure of the labs, you will be working in partnership with another student to build and configure Pexip Infinity. There is a significant amount of additional time required beyond the instructor sessions (approximately 1-2 hours per day) to complete the lab exercises. We cannot issue badge certifications if you have been unable to participate in the lab exercises.
You MUST join the virtual sessions with the ability to send and receive audio and video. Whilst SIP/H.323 endpoints can be used to join the virtual sessions, if you wish to do this we advise that you also join using your computer and browser (content only is fine in this case) as there will be shared URLs to interactive elements via the chat window (not accessible to standards based endpoints).
We also recommend that you use a computer with multiple monitors as you will interact with the live labs using an RDP session and refer to an electronic lab guide at the same time. In order to access the RDP session, we will need to know your public NAT’ed IPv4 address from the network where you will connect from.
